rel="nofollow" and VbSEO

If this has been hashed out before, great, drop the link to the thread.

I did search but didn't really nail it too well.

My questions this, does the VbSEO plugin/hack have the option to do this?

Does it do it to all existing links in a forum? Like will it do it to links already there in sigs and posts?

Can you determine it be done to links in posts, sigs, profiles or will it do it across the entire board?

What I see as a trend unfortuneately is many people joining a forum to simply drop links. They in some instances like to drop links to their competing forums ... in the tree business I call these types of members sap suckers. They're only there to take for themselves and contribute little.

When my forum started out not many would link or help, now some 7 months down the track out of the woodwork come many people dropping links, posting links to competing forums etc. SAP SUCKERS. When Mary asks about her Cherry tree an arborist should answer the question appropriately without replying "visit www.bs_etc for further information" ... when that place is a competing forum/site.

So, what I want to do is rel="no follow" all out bound links, that way if any do sneak through they wont have any weight.

What do you guys know? By the way, if I get this VbSEO I wont be installing it etc ... I'll need that done.

Re: rel="nofollow" and VbSEO

you can add nofollow to all external, internal and you can enter in url's you want to always have nofollow added.
You can look at our site to see all the profile and internal links that I have the nofollow on.

ps. I don't add nofollow attribute to external links for the benefit of the user.

Re: rel="nofollow" and VbSEO

How do you allow it in just one forum?

Liek I have set up an advertising forum where links are good to go, how do I set it up to exclude that forum from the rel=nofollow

Re: rel="nofollow" and VbSEO

It isn't an option to disallow nofollow for one specific forum.

Sorry

You can blacklist domains, but not certain forums.. You might make a suggestions at vbseo.com about it tho
