SEO for overall site?

I have VB SEO installed for the forum on yourdomain.com
Then I have a joomla site located on yourdomain.com site that has a link to it on the navigation bar.

I doubt the VBSEO works to optimize the joomla site. But does having it on the nav bar increase it's SEO capacity? Also how do I best make sure that joomla site is SEO friendly?

I hope I'm clear enough, I'm very fresh to the SEO thing.

Re: SEO for overall site?

Having a link will defiantly help, I haven't looked at your site in a while but.. I would suggest adding statewide link in the footer of your site in the root to all the major parts of both the vb and the joomla.. Sorta like what vbseo does with the archive links, but with links to the rest of the site.

If you look at our blog in the root, the links down in the footer are what I'm referring to.. I also have them on the forum for users that aren't logged in. Having a good interlinked network is optimal in my experience for SEO.
