Some changes for my forum & blog

I have been thinking about some changes to be done for my forum and blog for quite sometime but i'm not too sure if its a good idea or not.

When i started my last forum i placed it under root so the forum sits at hxxp://domain.com and the blog at hxxp://blog.domain.com

What i have in mind is to move the blog to the root and put the forum under a new subdomain like hxxp://forums.domain.com or hxxp://domain.com/forums/

Which format do you think is better?

the domain has a pr2 ranking and has about 10k pages indexed in google.

i would like to know your thoughts.

I've been contemplating the same thing.

I have my forum at www.domain.com/forums and I had vBadvanced CMPS at www.domain.com. If you leave your forums at www.domain.com then you can't have any other front page or CMS.

I think it's probably best to have the forums at forums.domain.com and the blog at blog.domain.com. More professional looking and you can use redirects to control it.

If you use a 301 redirect, the pages should assume the original urls PR, it should be updated at the next PR update.

I would suggest setting things up like we have
the blog in the root, then the forum in a subdomain, it really depends on what you want to do with the blog. Is it truly just going to be a blog, or are you wanting to post news about the whole site on the blog and use it as a cms.

I'm planning to put up news, articles, tutorials, reviews and stuff in the root and forums can be used for discussions.

I use wordpress for the blog. Another thing is i want it to allow guest to be able to post articles and tutorials but i should be able to moderate it before it shows on the homepage. Is there a plugin that i can use in wordpress?

Or is there a better cms that fulfills the above requirements.

Another thing about placing the forums. Someone told me putting the forums like -> ' hxxp://domain.com/forums ' is a better option.

I would like to know from you guys what you think.
