Static Header & Menu

I've begun construction of my site and I was curious of the best method for using static headers and menus. My menus are done in CSS and at the moment I have to repeat the processes on every page so the header image, top menu, and side menu display on every page. The problem I've run into using this method is sometimes something might change just enough to where one of the menus changes slightly. I figure the best method is to use something static, like perhaps a separate file and use some form of include command. However, this, to me, doesn't seem like the optimal solution for creating an SEO friendly page.

What would be the best method? Please check out my homepage (it's under construction) and look at the source code to get a better idea of what I'm doing. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Furthermore, please consider that I am a novice.

I'll assume your talking about on the forum pages ?
You should be able to edit the header template and it will reflect on all forum pages.
Let us know if this helps

No, I'm meaning the actual site that the forums support. I'll get the forums SEO happy later. Right now I'm building the the website the forums are supporting, and that's where I'm worried.

Oh, well this is in the wrong section then.

Have you thought about using a blog from the front page ?
That's what I thought it was the first time I looked at it.

How about making header a different html file that you include in each and every page? This is what I am thinking of doing for my next site design.

I have looked at a few and none really appealed to me, so I think my best bet for now is just to code by hand.

This is what I was thinking. One of my old sites did that with a left menu and just included it. So you would suggest using a header instead of a menu include? The only downside is that I would have different keywords on each of my pages to match the content. If I use a static header then the keywords will remain the same throughout the entire site. I really just want to keep my menus static.

Re: Static Header & Menu

They wouldn’t remain the same; meta tags are located inside the header include template and there is no need to overwrite it. Just add the content inside the body tag in header template.
