"they" aren't adding mod_rewrite because it's a "lot of work" ?
I would be dropping that host asap, hope your site doesn't go down and you need a backup, that may turn out to be "a lot of work" for the host as well.

To be honest mate they've been brilliant with me,when i started out with my forum i knew nothing and they helped me an awful lot,they installed my forum for me for nothing which they normally charge for plus i got my years hosting with 25% off because i know the guy from another forum and the server has been very reliable ive had no problems.Its just this i'm dissapointed about..a lot of people have asked them about getting it setup,hopefully they'll sort it soon i feel i'm missing out by not having vBSEO installed.

Dude, they can enable mod_rewrite on one server in minutes.

Yeah, I'd drop that host. Installing mod_rewrite is as simple as deleting a # character, unless your host uses a different apache installation

Yea, tell them its not a long term as they only have to edit one line in the http.conf if they are using apache.

Yeah i'll say to them.I'm not going to move to another host really they've been great,everything ive asked from they've done it straight away for me.Its just that..that they've not been able to do i think there must be a reason for it because if it was as simple as you say im sure they would have sorted it for me.I'll say to them and see what they say.


Edit: i spoke to my host and its because im on a windows server and i use ISS,he's going to sort it out soon for me.
