Hey peeps,

I have vBSEO Sitemap Generator installed on my forum, I don't have vBSEO.

I noticed when I was in my google webmaster account that I have 20,000 urls in the sitemap. I checked the settings in ACP and the default max url is set to 20,000.

I've obviously reached the max url of 20,000 and I've now set it to 50,000.

But what happens when you have 50,000 urls in the sitemap?

Does google have a good enough knowledge of your site the you don't need a sitemap once you reach this point?

No..
You then make more then one sitemap like
Sitemap_1.gz
Sitemap_2.gz
Sitemap_3.gz...

ect..

On my forums I have over 200,000 URLs without a problem

Yes, and you should always keep your sitemap so its easier to detect if you encounter any issues or anything along the way ;)
