Google Adsense Is Full of Double Standards

Adsense has recently made this announcement regarding images near your adsense ads: Inside AdSense: Ad and image placement: a policy clarification

Their policy hasn't changed one bit. They will allow some people to put the images next to them and then some people they won't.

This is the same Adsense team that flat out told me IntelliTXT could not be used on a page with Adsense. Some of the biggest sites on the net use IntelliTXT and Adsense on the same page. Try this one: GT take off's - Mustang Forums at StangNet

Now what did that email they sent to me say again?

Adsense is full of double standards and I can't stand them one bit. I absolutely hate two face organizations and that is exactly what Google is. If you make enough money with them you can get away with somethings. If you don't you get your entire earnings stripped from you and your account terminated.

There are expletives running through my head that express how I feel about that.

General Discussion is a perfect example. Sprintusers has an Adsense rep for their site and they have been running ads like that for 6-7 months. Unless the Adsense rep for them is extremely stupid, they are well aware that they are making thousands of dollars a month off that adsense channel with images next to it. They don't even use a border. Not trying to get anyone in trouble but come on. How much crap are the average adsense publishers going to take from Google?

The only pages I use adsense on are pages that I can't use YPN on. Such as places where link units work. Other than that good riddance to Google Adsense and their double standards.

This should be interesting. I have an adsense rep monitoring my sites right now, and nothing was said about my ad placement. I doubt anything will be said either.

Going to verify this wit a rep this week to be sure, but I don't think what I am doing is a problem.

So much for that. Got a response back and was asked to not display the ads in the way I have been displaying them. This really sucks.

You should ask them why SprintUsers can do it and while your at it ask them if IntelliTXT on the same page as Google Adsense is acceptable and see what they say.

I took my google ads down for now, will probably remove them from my other sites before too much longer. At this point I have enough options for advertising that adsense really isn't that important to me.

I have grown tired of about everything related to google over the past 18 months. They can put images on the ads themselves (as they have done very often on my sites), and recently they have put those ugly google images on their ads, but in order for me to run ads under my navbar I have to take my photopost down? no thanks. My members like seeing their bikes showing up on the forums.

This pretty much has made me decide to stick with YPN. I was thinking about moving over to Adsense since it targets better, but I really don't like how they seem to be acting. YPN is new, so I am sure that, given some time, they will be better with the ad targeting.

I sent my adsense rep an nice long nasty voicing of my displeasure in this. I will still do well with YPN, but I have always done better with adsense.

Although, if YPN, upon this attempt doesn't perform as well as adsense, I can always add intellitxt along with yahoo.

Exactly

I am also going to look into geo targeting for non us visitors and show tribal fusion in place of YPN when an non us visitor comes to the site.

Well it looks as if SprintUsers has finally taken their images off next to the Adsense in their archives.

Now the only thing left is for Adsense to either allow IntelliTXT for everyone or not allow it at all.

This move is going to cost google quite a bit of money.
