Infizzle - Info for the Real World

Hey Everyone,

So, I think I finally got my site to a decent point where I can put it out there for people. A month ago when I first downloaded VB, I didn't know anything about web design/coding, but I have kept on trucking along (with the help of people on this forum and others). Believe me, the site still has a long ways to go and there are a few kinks that I am trying to work thru (the largest being how it is viewed in different browsers/screen resolutions). But, I would like to try and get people to start using the site. One way I thought about achieving that was by offering $50 to the person who's post is "thanked" the most by other members as of January 1, 2007.

At any rate, I would appreciate some feedback on the site. Thanks!

Indeed you have been working hard already. Just on FF the homepage : can you stretch the forum block a little. To the upper part it is looking to small..
Maybe the little dot on the left is pushing the block to the right ?

First thing I'd suggest is to remove the - Powered By vBulletin in the browser title.
Powered by vBulletin in title tag [how to remove]

2nd to help with the ads messing up the layout, try something like this : Side column on forumhome only - vBulletin.org Forum

that should fix the layout and still show your ad's

p.s. I'd remove the ads

Thanks for the review Eric...Working hard is an understatement LOL...Considering the fact that I had no idea what I was doing when I first started, I'm happy with where things are going. Today, I think I finally made the site more liquid so that it works from 800x600 Res and up...There are still some minor positioning flaws, but it's definitely a work in progress...Thanks again Eric.

Thanks for the comments Crow. What's the deal with the powered by vbulletin tag? I thought we were not allowed to remove their tags unless we paid or something? Thanks for the suggestion on the ad layout, but I was working today and believe I made it more liquid. There are still some more minor positioning flaws, but I'll get to them eventually...As far as the ads, I only have two ads up from Google and the others are "ads" for my own site for people to register and check out the cool zoints profile. The ad at the bottom is for my brother's scooter business that he started so I figured I would appease him and just place it at the bottom. I know what you mean about not over-crowding the page with ads though, so hopefully I can continue to work them in more seamlessly. Thanks for the input again.
