Re: WVU Talk - A college forum

I like the style

in case anyone wonders, its made by the same site that made the one we have here

here are a few suggestions..
  • it's your call, but I'd make the blog a sub domain,, blog.wvutalk.net
  • the vb plaza, might rename that button, again your call, but i don't think your members will know what this is.. maybe just "shop" or "forum goodies"
  • maybe add another block on the portal,, like * hot topics * to fill the empty space on the left or put an ad there
  • k, now the forum... add the welcome header hack, this will help tell what your site is about,, oh back to the portal,, add a block telling about your site there too ;)
  • i really dig the layout of the forums,, in particular the part under the title like Posts: 11 | Threads: 5 i like how that looks,, but u may want to add descriptions to each forum,, this will help seo also.
  • again, add something on the left blank space,, maybe you can pull some images from your blog to put in a column, that would look nice.
  • i don't really understand the monthly mountaineers contest ?
  • in your showthread, u may want to even out the bux and stuff, like check out this, its a clients site that has a ton of toys in the post bit
  • other that that, its looking real good we can discuss what I've mentioned, and then elaborate from there to further refine the site

ps, I'd put the forum in its own sub domain too, but i like to keep things short and neat.. :14:

pps. Check this out to help Clean up your Navbar
