I`m curios what do people look for in a hosting environment, like cPanel servers for example.
Do you need sitebuilders, do you like protected environments and would give up a few % of load time just to be secured, that sort of stuff.
Also please post if you are using a hosting and like x addon, specifing of course what the addon is and what it does

For shared hosting I go with cPanel or Plesk from a reputable company that doesn't over sell. There really aren't many features i need or use outside the stats program and obviously I won't host at a company who has had constant hacking/downtime/loss of data.

After the shared level though, I only use cPanel if I know I'll be hosting a lot of sites, or If its just for one site to the server, I won't even run a control panel and just use a Php/Apache/MySQL solution without the control panel.

I generally avoid Plesk at the dedicated level, because i find it a real pain to work with.

And addons like Fantastico, Sitebuilder, Rvskin ? Do they count ?
Does an anti-spam other than that spamassasin decide whether the company is worth it or not ?

Rvskins are just an enhancement improvement for cPanel... nothing fancy though.

You should ask the masses of your clients on how you can improve and what they'd like to see you add that other hosting companies offer.

Inform them you take all suggestions seriously and anything that you can implement that will make everything better over all, will be tested first, and if everything goes good, implement it.

Certain hosts have certain features because they cater to a particular demographic of people who need hosting. The best way to find out the features you need to is to poll the clients

Maybe if you can add something in their billing email when it goes out, to grab their attn would work good.
