Re: What hosting service do you use?

We use Asmallorange, I admit their support is awsome but their servers are pants. Looking for a new one ATM. These were recommended to me future hosting: virtual private servers They appear to have very good reviews.

I use ASO also and have had nothing but great service. I have had a couple small issues, but they were fixed in less then 5 minutes.

We have had a buggy, slow tempremental server for months. They suspended our account without warning for "excessive system resource usage". We were forced to move to a Vps by them, which is very tempremental. We have had to disable several hacks and Vb features in an effort to get it to stay online. At one point our google pages halved because of it. As i said the staff have been extremely helpful but they needed to be.

Re: What hosting service do you use?

That was where we went wrong, we started off small so we paid for a years hosting as it was cheaper. Once we grew, we were no longer a site with 2000000 hits a month i guess they didnt like it. The problem is if you pay for a years hosting you have to use them for the year or lose what you have already paid. Apparently they are resellers Ie. don't host themselves. From what i have seen i believe it to be true.

I`m really curious how hosters like dreamhost can offer a server`s wide hosting for like only 7-8 $. I mean, 2 TB bw and 200 GB space...From what I know, they resell like crazy..

That is why I have never paid for months in advance. It's just to risky.

Re: What hosting service do you use?

FH offers price breaks when you pay in advanced.. Right now I pay 3 months at a time. I'd save more if I paid for 6 months or a year of time, but honestly.. I just don't have that much cash to spend, or I would buy a year.
