Description:
"This is a recipe I have adapted a bit from my grandmother's. It's
easy and perfect for a Sunday afternoon with fresh Italian bread."

  1. 3 tablespoons olive oil
  2. 1 onion, quartered then
  3. halved
  4. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  5. 1 (29 ounce) can tomato
  6. sauce
  7. 5 1/2 cups water
  8. 1 tablespoon dried
  9. parsley
  10. 1 1/2 teaspoons dried
  11. basil
  12. 1 1/2 teaspoons dried
  13. oregano
  14. 1 teaspoon salt
  15. 1 (15 ounce) can
  16. cannellini beans
  17. 1 (15 ounce) can navy
  18. beans
  19. 1/3 cup grated Parmesan
  20. cheese
  21. 1 pound ditalini pasta
Preparation:
  1. buy everything and get it together
Instructions:
  1. In a large pot over medium heat, cook onion in olive oil until
  2. translucent. Stir in garlic and cook until tender. Reduce heat, and
  3. stir in tomato sauce, water, parsley, basil, oregano, salt, cannelini
  4. beans, navy beans and Parmesan. Simmer 1 hour.
  5. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and
  6. cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain. Stir into soup.
