| iPhone icon cupcakes
The cupcakes are made of chocolate cake with a grey butter cream and fondant is used for the icons.
Either buy a mix or make chocolate cupcake batter from scratch. Somehow, the creators of this recipe managed to make the individual cupcakes with squared-off tops. If there is such a thing as square-shaped cupcake molds, use them. Bake the cupcakes to full done-ness and put them out to cool. Be sure they are completely cool before putting the fondant decorations on them, because fondant melts/turns grainy easily. With the fondant, get creative, separate it into balls and tint each of them the colors you see on the cupcakes. Fondant, as you know, is rolled out flat like cookie dough for cookie-cutter cookies. Some of the shapes for decoration in fondant seem to have been cut with a cookie cutter, some must be cut freehand with a sharp knife. |
