Welcome to the new vBulletinSetup Newsletter!
As you may or may not see, (depending on if we have a bug in the newsletter or not) we have added a new style to the forums.
We've actually added the new style to our entire site, the wordpress blog, the vBulletin forum, and the phpLD link directory.
After running a logo contest at DigitalPoint, I went to miner at minerskinz and discussed the features and the look I was after, and you can see what we came up with.
We still have a few bugs, like I'm not sure how this newsletter will look once sent out, but we are stomping them out left and right every day.
We started running posting contests one year ago and have had great success with them. I like them, but sort of get bored running the same contest all the time..lol. So... We had our first vBulletin Board of the Month (BOTM) in March and congrats goes out to acers with his forum "FunEnclave". We have started taking submissions for the April BOTM, the winner will get 20,000 links back to your forum multiple PR5 pages and down. We look forward to building this contest up, maybe in time, also offering a write up in a permanant blog post.
BOTM winners are also welcome to post this badge on your site to brag to your members of how great your forums are!!!
Here is the Submission thread for Forums over one year old.
Here is the Submission thread for New forums, less then one year old.
I see vBulletin.com released 3.7RC2. I'd expect to see another RC if not 2 more before Gold comes out. We updated our board a day or two after the updates, but I didn't really notice any changes.
Since we've added a new style, we are looking for new banners to share with the world. If you would like to donate a piece of your work, we would love to give credit to you on our banners page.
We have started a new group of Blog Contributers that have access to post new articles on our home PR5 wordpress blog. The articles are getting indexed within 24 hours and I'm also sumitting each blog post to 20 social bookmarking sites and a few different profiles via a great new program I found. I'm still messing around with it, but I'll mention it in this "auto social bookmarking" thread that I started a while back.
After some deliberation, we have decided to change our Recipe Mod Databases name to the new vBRecipe. We will be releasing our next beta of vBRecipe soon, which is compatible with vBulletin 3.7.x. You can see a demo of vBRecipe here. If you have any ideas on features, or would like to report a bug, please see here. You can also click here to purchase vBRecipe. With the launch of this new system, we are now going to be running the vBulletin Project Tools, to help keep customers updated on our progress. You can see our Project Tools here.
We have 2 more, clean, widget ready wordpress styles that will get released this month. You can see an example here, I just have to add the copyright links and upload them to our Free WordPress Styles page. Speaking of wordpress, if you haven't upgraded your blog to 2.5, I strongly suggest at least checking it out. They have redesigned the admin panel and it's very nice. Something else regarding Wordpress is the WordCamp in Dallas last month. This is a place where many of the WP designers and developers get together with fellow bloggers. I'll try to make it to a WordCamp one of these years, for now all we have are the videos shared by those who attended.
This Newsletter is a bit out of wack from the normal, I'm still not sure how it will look in everyones mail box. If it's horrible, I applogize. It will look fantastic once the style gets set "if" it's an issue.
Regards
vBulletinSetup Staff
